Saint John the Evangelist operates under the
authority of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown.

                          AFTER SCHOOL DAILY ROUTINE
  2:25 – 3:00     -         Meet in the gym.
                                  - Student provided snack in the cafeteria.
                                  There are snacks available for those that do not
                                   have or have forgotten their snacks.

3:00 – 3:30     -         Homework Time.
                               Students will be required to participate in this if they
                               were given a homework assignment for that day.  
                               Exceptions will be made at the parent’s request only.   
                               Because of time limits and student focus, younger
                               children will not be required to do reading
                               assignments at After School.

                               - Pre K and K will be taken to the gym for quiet,
                               structured activities.              

                               -  1st and 2nd grades will stay in the cafeteria until
                               their homework is finished.  Afterwards, they will move
                               to the gym for quiet, structured activities.

                               -  For safety and staffing reasons, 3rd, 4th, and 5th
                               grades will stay in the cafeteria for the 30 minute          
                               homework period.
                               It is asked that they come prepared with a quiet
                               activity (a book to read, a drawing/sketch pad,
                               coloring pages/books, extra studies, etc) to work on
                               after their homework is completed.  They may also
                               talk quietly or play a game with friends who are also
                               finished with homework.

3:30 – 4:30       -   Structured outside play or inside gym time.
                               Activities at this time will be organized games and/or
                               crafts.  Because of the wide range of ages there will
                               be NO contact sports or games played during this
                               period of time.

4:30 – 5:30      -   Monitored student choice.

                               There will be a variety of activities available at all
                               times for the children.  These include age appropriate
                               games, toys, and crafts.
